Music Theory tuition will help you to play your own instrument and give you a better understanding of music that you listen to.
It will also give you the knowledge and skills that you need to start to write your own music.
I can help you to understand why music sounds as its does; why it is written in the way that it is, and how it is structured. You will see how music is all about patterns and repeating ideas. For example the links between scales and harmony, between rhythm, pulse and structure, and the way that all of these come together in the written diagrams that we call the ‘score’ - what you read and then put into sound.
And all of this so easy to achieve on-line.
Each week we will go through various topics and areas of study. I then set work to do during the following week, asking students to return it to me via email for marking and assessment prior to the next lesson. Then we look at areas of confusion or that need more guidance and move on from there.
If you play an instrument, you already know the basics of Music Theory and with regular work can make rapid progress. If you are a beginner at your instrument it is a skill that you can understand with clear explanation and help.
